Our grant-making philosophy is to fund programs within non-profit organizations that address unmet needs of women and girls in Weld County which will enable them to become self-confident, independent and economically self-sufficient members of the community.

The Grants Committee will begin review of received grant applications beginning July 15. Clarification requests regarding applications will be emailed to applicants in August and September.
We evaluate grant applications using many ratings, including our Funding Focus and Criteria (below). Please refer to these guidelines before writing and submitting your grant application to ascertain if your project is aligned with our guidelines.
The following are required items to apply for a grant from the Women's Fund of Weld County:

FUNDING
FOCUS
Because income (not principal) from the Endowment Fund is distributed, contributions made to The Women's Fund of Weld County will continue to support women and girls for generations.
Our funding focus is solely for programs that support girls and women of Weld County.
Within this focus, the Women’s Fund concentrates its funding in two strategic areas:
1) girls’ futures; and
2) girls’ and women’s education, employment, training and self-development.
Grants will be evaluated based on:

greatest impact to women/girls who will benefit from the grant

alignment with the Women’s Fund Criteria

the quality and need for the project
Note: Grant proposals that do not meet our criteria will not be considered.

FAQs
Q1. What is the deadline for submitting a grant application?
A1. All final grant applications must be received by July 31. However, the Grants committee will begin review of received grant applications beginning July 15. Clarification requests regarding the application will be sent to applicants in August.
Q2. What is the amount of funding that can be requested?
A2. Any amount up to $7,500.00.
Q3. Will partial funding be considered?
A3. Yes. We will provide partial funding in some cases.
Q4. Does The Women's Fund provide grants to fund staff salaries?
A4. No. Our focus is on providing funds for new, innovative programs for the benefit of women and girls in Weld County, not on-going salaries.
Q5. Will The Women's Fund provide grants for men/boys?
A5. No. Our focus is on providing funds for new, innovative programs for the benefit of women and girls in Weld County.
Q6. Can I apply for a grant if I have received a previous grant from The Women's Fund?
A6. Yes, an organization can apply as long as the Grant Evaluation form has been submitted for the program previously granted.
Q7. Does the organization need to be located in Weld County?
A7. No. However, the program requesting grant funding must benefit women and girls in Weld County.
Q8. When will I be notified if I have received a grant?
A8. All grant recipients will be notified in October.
Q9. Will I be notified if I do not receive a grant?
A9. Yes. An email will be sent to all grant applicants after grants are accepted by the recipients.
Q10. Do the agencies seeking grant funding need to be non-profit organizations?
A10. Yes. The organization seeking grant funding must be a 501(c)(3) or equivalent.
Q11. Will the Women's Fund consider requests for a qualifying non-profit's operating budget?
A11. Yes. In 2020, the Board agreed to consider funding requests for qualifying non-profits operational costs.

The Women’s Fund of Weld County will not fund:

grants to one organization to be passed to another

endowments

debt reduction

campaigns to elect candidates, lobbying activities or intent

programs to promote religious or sectarian activities

annual appeals or membership drives

capital purposes including building improvements and office equipment

scholarships for course work or conferences for individuals or payments to individuals (funding available only to groups, agencies and non-profits)

Projects that serve or are used by women and girls who reside in Weld County
